BiographyDr. Robert Fisher is professor of education at Brunel University. He taught for more than 20 years in schools in the UK, Africa and Hong Kong and as headteacher for five years at a primary school in west London. His PhD was awarded for research into philosophy for children. He has published more than 30 books on education including the Stories for Thinking series,Teaching Children to Think and Teaching Children to Learn. His books have been translated into ten languages and feature in many successful research projects. Robert is a consultant to schools, local education authorities and government organisations. He advised on thinking skills in the National Curriculum in England and the National Primary Strategy. He has been consulted by many organisations including the DfES, Arts Council and the British Council and is a keynote speaker at many national and international conferences. In his spare time Robert writes poetry, paints and sculpts, and enjoys music, travel and meditation on his allotment.
